When Labour lose this election
When Labour lose the election they will go on an extended period of navel gazing, as all parties do. Labour will think it lost over student loans, or tax, or health, or over some other issue.
I think it is because it has forgotten the people who put it into power - New Zealand's middle class.
Consider this quote from today's Martin Van Beynen's Dominion Post 'Kingswood Tour' from a Pacific Island woman from Otara:
'Nurse Taele Moana is just about to hop into the car with husband Faaauro. Born in Samoa but in New Zealand for 20 years, she explains they are National voters.
"We both work. We are not beneficiaries. We have a mortgage. We vote National."'

Labour won't be doing any Navel gazing after the election. They will be too busy laughing at National's defense policy which is a think and then don't spend policy. At least Labour have ordered a range of credible ships for our Navy which will protect our exclusive economic zone and our fisheries.
"The Kingswood Tour" was a special pro-right wing piece of propaganda sponsored by the owners of "The Dominion" and Christchurch's "The Press" which are now both edited by right wing editors appointed by the Australian owners. It is however interesting that even "The Kingswood Tour" boys expect a Labour re-election going by their latest writings.
