Pegasus Town
The weekend just gone I was down in Christchurch and happened to see the model for the new Pegasus Town. This is a new suburb to be built from scratch north of Christchurch - east of Rangiora and north of Kaiapoi.
The whole town looks like Wisteria Lane from "Desperate Housewives" - which makes me think what dirty laundry will this little town will be hiding.
But actually, the concept looks very sound to me - the town will have a golf course and lake for recreation and the sand dunes out to Pegasus Bay will be left untouched. The only thing missing is a High School - but Kaiapoi and Rangiora are only a few minutes away and Christchurch is a 30 minute drive.
I'm sure that the suburb will be a sucess.

I'm not so sure. Whilst i'd like it to succeed, I suspect it may be too think big. I'm guessing that the people who buy early are going to be waiting a long time for all the construction to be finished. Perhaps 10 years plus.
Think how long Whitby has taken to get even to the stage it has.

I wondered how that the big trucks were on the Pegasus moors already today, 13 march, at the same time [i think] that the RMA hearing is on.
Canterbury public has forfeited about a zillion dollars to those morons in ECANt [ REGIONAL COUNCIL] over the High court hearing.
That dribbler gary moore is talking about light rail when what we need is a six lane highway from sumner across the flats and joining near the Waimak,
Jesus you cant even get past Prestons road Marshlands who wants to live at pegasus when you cant get there,
