Brett Lee Strikes Fear into the Hearts of Music Lovers Everywhere (and an Indian Mother-in-Law)

Brett Lee was known as one of the worlds fastest pace bowlers, using speed as an intimidaing weapon against batsmen the world over. Until this:

Unbelievable! What was he thinking?

  • hi there,
saying these words you have murdered my heart.i am dissapointed by your harsh words ,even more disturbing is the fact that you dont know indian music and still you are commenting.
INDIA LOVES BRETT AND BRETT LOVES INDIA. even after your so so unkind words i pray to GOD this relation between brett and INDIA does not get spoilt.ask any brett fan and they will tell you how good this song is because brett is trying to speak our language hindi and it makes hearts feel good.hope he performs better and becomes an legendary opening fast bowler under the strike rate of 25.BRETT WELL DONE!!!!!!

  • Cut Brett some slack...
what I belive Neha's trying to say is this..that Brett, he's done a really amazing thing..this video is a testament to the fact that he respects India as a country, and that he doesnt hold a lowly, derogatory opinion of the country like so many others, even Indians themselves.
I'm Indian and Im flattered by it.

I have to say though,i turned red while watching the video, i don't know how Brett pulled this off, without dying of embarrasment. Its corny, and cheesy and I could use a whole lot of adjectives to that effect, but I think everyone would agree to that, so I wont.Very entertaining all in all.

it'll be a hit here though..cos people love cricket and Brett, not in australia however, and if it did, i would be realllllly surprised.

One thing as a cricket fan I know is this. India are TOTALLY mad about cricket and you should never take the mickey out of anything to do with cricket and India.

It's like offending the King in Thailand.

Even the Black Caps are treated like Gods in India when they tour.

Personally I have gotten on with every Indian I meet for the simple reason - cricket. They forgive everything else offensive about you as long as you worship at the temple of Tendulkar (which I do), Dravid and identify Pakistan as cheating scum (which I do).

Apart from their own team they love anyone who is good at Cricket. Such as Brett Lee is. I recall Martin Crowe being popular there as well as Glenn Turner, moreso that he has an Indian wife.

I look forward to the Black Caps next tour to India as I will seriously consider popping along to see their beautiful country...well the 5 star hotels and tours anyway :)

  • For Neha especially when I have time I will blog in my next of the Cricket series on the sub-continents love of the game and why we do not understand it.

  • I was in India for the 03 tour and have to agree with Cactus Kate completely. There were huge billboards with Fleming on them on our approach to the grounds for the first test. This country isn't just cricket mad, its completely ga ga for it. Think our devotion to the All Blacks at its peak and the multiply it by a thousand and you are on the right track!

  • Hahaha! What a bunch of sensitive cretins you are. Brett Lee should release this garbage just because cricket is hugely popular in India? This shows that Brett Lee respects India?

If he respected India he'd spare them this utterly, utterly dire "song".

To Cactus Kate - what a sad indictment of your personality that cricket is your only way of relating to Indians. They are interested in other things, you know.

  • I'm going to hazard a guess here and say that Rich doesn't know what he is talking about.

  • What, that Indians are something other than a stereotype? Or that truly crappy music should be recorded and released simply because it would sell? Idol fan are you?
