Why is every article about rising petrol have a soundbite from Jeanette Fitzsimmons or Greenpeace about how we're running out of oil, but when petrol falls 40c (not including the up to 10c Supermarket discount) in since October no-one asks them for comment?
And why haven't the Greens put out a press release about "Peak Oil" for 3 months, co-incidentally when Petrol started falling in price?
UPDATE: Russell Norman gave his 'State of the Planet' speech today and didn't use the phrase 'Peak Oil' once!

The Greens are making their "State of the Planet" speech today. You'll probably have the next few weeks with peak oil + global warming + Bush is evil because of (1) and causing (2) sound bites.
The drop in price was probably caused by secret deals between Bush and the Iraqi government. It will not last.

He didn't use "Peak Oil" because he decided to blame George Bush for using the American military to grab all the available oil. I think Peak Oil would have detracted from that message.
It would be pointless to advance "Bush needs the ME for oil" if he had pointed out that we will officially run out of oil in November this year.
He certainly blamed Bush for every evil under the sun. I suspect ALL the other countries in the World, starting with China and Zimbabwe automatically qualify for the Nobel Peace Prize, because the USA by default is responsible for all the evil in the world, and is the worst, or other countries are eqaual only because of the USA foreign policy.
And then he moved on to Global Warming and blamed everyone but the Greens for that.
Can you imagine him as the next NZ Prime Minister?

Come on Michael. Petrol is still stupidly expensive. It just isn't mind-bendingly expensive atm.
Your argument is similar to those that think global warming is a myth because it's cold where they live.
