Haha, what? Two narrow losses by sides that supposedly "stink"? I was at the Phoenix game - they were the better side and Newcastle's goal was a very lucky one. And I'd hardly call the Warriors dropping a playoff against the Eels by two points to be worthy of such an adjective either.
Your two winners were sides that were always going to crush extremely poor opposition, in tournaments where only three or four teams have a chance of winning the whole thing.
It's a shame that you seem to measure the worth of a sport by the success (or lack) of the local team.
Soccer's a boring sport to watch at the level the Phoenix are at. And they're bottom of the table - a sure sign of a team who stink.
The most similar sport to soccer with passing between players to set up a goal is Basketball, which is a hundred times better as they have a easy goal (which you cannot defend), more scoring, a more intimate playing arena, and fewer players.
Televised League is thuggery - although I watched a Eels/Bears semifinal in Sydney 10 years ago, and enjoyed the skill and strategy.
And anyone who doesn't understand a scrum, a ruck, or a lineout will never appreciate Rugby. But I have, so I do.
One wonders why you didn't just say that you don't like league and soccer and leave it at that.
Seems like a pointless post really, as your comment on the quality of the two sides in question has no real merit. One side finished in the top four after 26 rounds and the other has played a sum total of three games in a league in which only two teams of eight have actually managed a win so far - hardly enough evidence to make a case.
