Clever
Received this email today. I'd never heard of the sender, nor had I subscribed to anything like this. So I was thinking I needed to unsubscribe.
But on a closer look, I saw some things that made me think twice:

First I noticed the email address is @gmail.com - if it really was from ChinaWatch, then it wouldn't be from a domain you can use anonymously. Then I hovered my mouse over the shortcut link - and no URL was displayed.
So I came to conclusion that this is a very professional attempt to get me to click on the link and download spyware.
But what made me laugh were the topics in the email -
Perhaps the newsletter is being truthful overall!
