In the Herald today
Yes, I'm actually quoted in the Herald today - the journalist rang up asking about ticket prices, specifically if I thought it was excessive to pay $300+ for a concert.
So I explained that I was happy with the price, knowing that it was in line with concert prices overseas, and that if prices were kept low in NZ then the acts would bypass us and go to Australia or Asia instead. I also explain that the recession is personal, if your job is under threat or if you have lost your job then you will not spend on luxury items like concert tickets. (This is the bit he kept) But if you are secure with your employment then it's not such a big deal to buy a luxury from time to time.
And what also was kept in was that it is unlikely that Simon and Garfunkel will be back in NZ again, so that helped tip the balance in favour of going now.
